Cosmic Dust…

January 16, 2006

Yeah, I’m a geek and I find articles about space discovery intriguing! With that being said the seven year long journey of Stardust has come to an end. Stardust was a mission by NASA to fly a probe through the tail of the comet known as “Wild 2″ in an attempt to capture some of the comet’s particles. Although they only grabbed a thimble full of the comet’s tail, it will apparently take years to analyze the dust.

Anyhow, I guess that isn’t overly exciting, but for some reason I think it is! Maybe it’s the element of the “unknown” with respect to what they’ll find. Will they find that the theory of how our planet came to be is completely wrong? Will they find that the dust they captured is actually some new element that is capable of generating ridiculous amounts of energy? Or will they find that the dust is really only…well…dust!?

Anyhow, that’s all I’ve got. Take it or leave it suckas…

Cheers!
